Our Journey

Shrewsbury International School Phnom Penh serves as the principle proof point on our website, as its story demonstrates CSWi’s ability to take a world-class British brand and successfully plan, open, and operate a school that meet the exactingly high-standards of an institution such as Shrewsbury School in the UK.

The opening of the all-through campus in 2026:

The development of Shrewsbury International School Phnom Penh’s 7.2-hectare Sen Sok campus progressed through several key milestones following its initial announcement in March 2025. In June 2025, the school hosted a model unveiling ceremony at its on-site Welcome Suite to showcase the 3-D architectural design, an event attended by the British Ambassador. Construction reached a major structural benchmark in January 2026 with a Topping Out Ceremony celebrating the completion of the highest point of the build, where the Deputy Prime Minister attended as the Guest of Honour.

The school opened its doors on time, at 8 AM sharp on 3rd September 2026 for students from Early Years through Year 10.

Spanning 7.2 hectares, the purpose-built Sen Sok site stands as the largest international school grounds in Phnom Penh, combining comprehensive academic, creative, and athletic environments. The campus features a specialised Performing Arts Centre housing a 600-seat professional theatre, a 200-seat 'black box' performance space, and dedicated music, dance, and drama studios. Academic infrastructure includes a four-storey secondary school building, a library and Sixth Form centre, specialist science laboratories, art studios, computer science suites, and design & technology workshops. Athletic and wellbeing amenities encompass an Aquatics Centre with a 50-metre outdoor Olympic swimming pool and indoor learner pool, a full competition-grade FIFA football pitch surrounded by a 400-metre running track, Cambodia's only Fives courts, an indoor sports hall, and landscaped play areas featuring a 'forest school' outdoor learning environment.
